Research Interests:
Main research field is: Wheat genetics and breeding, cytogenetics and molecular genetics of Triticeae
1) The production of addition, substitution and
translocation lines possessing agronomically useful genes introgressed
from wild related species. Cytogenetic and molecular
genetic studies of introgression lines between wheat and related species
and their use in the improvement of the qualities of Chinese wheats.
2) Plant breeding is progressed to develop new
variety based on understanding the gene function and how the genes
control the traits and use the molecular markers to assist the
selection. The group focused on developing the molecular markers of
important traits including dwarfing and stripe rust resistant traits,
developing the new variety by pyramiding the important genes.
