Research Interests:

  • Genetic transformation of wheat.

  • Transformation technology as a tool for understanding gene function and regulation.


Now, transformation of bread wheat with genes related to end use quality, is conducted. The objective is to further understand the roles of particular high and low molecular weight glutenin proteins in determining wheat quality for traditional uses (bread, pasta), and study the roles of the elements in the upstream of glutenin genes for endosperm-specific expression.
